Orphan Scholarship Project

Are You An Orphan Advocate?

Imagine being close to the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam in Jannah!

Among the greatest gifts we can give an orphan is a quality education.
Last year, $81,704 in full scholarships was awarded to 13 orphans.

YOU made this possible.

Through supporting the Orphan Tuition Scholarship Program, you are equipping our orphans with both the academic and Islamic education they need to be successful in this life and the Hereafter.

Now, more than ever before, we need your help!

Can you further your support by becoming an Orphan Education Advocate?

As an Orphan Education Advocate, you will encourage your family and friends to support the Orphan Tuition Scholarship Program with a one-time or on-going charitable contribution.

The Donor Care Office will facilitate the entire process by setting up your personal (or team) fundraising page that will be shared with family, friends, and social networks.

If you are interested, please email Sr. Nimao asap at nimao.abdi@darussalaam.org.

You can also create your own fundraising page by visiting the campaign’s main page here.

How we do we say NO to negative thoughts and negative energy?

Coool Summer Award Ceremony

 As’salamu Alaikum –

Just after the Eid celebration last week, it’s time for us to celebrate yet another well-deserved cool event – the successful completion of our 6th annual COOOL Summer Program, it has been a truly remarkable and meaningful journey for each of us.

Unlike the last 5 years, the program this year connected our students and families across the state - from North Carolina to New York. The hands-on experiences our students had gained during the last 4 weeks covered a wide array of topics including Web Development, Computer Gaming DesignData Science & Analytics, College/Career Prep, and Scientific Research all blended with an Islamic perspective. With the successful completion of our four weeks class, our high school students are now ready to start their journey for a merit based scientific research program with a Paid Internship Opportunity - it’s a testament to the commitment, passion, dedication and selflessness that our leadership put forth together when they paved the way to COOOL Summer School six years ago.

Alhamdulillah, we are inspired by the talent, skill, ingenuity and leadership demonstrated by our students. We learned a great deal from each other that will help advance our continued growth and success in the future, in sha Allah. Because of your continued support, we champion the promise of a brighter tomorrow; we are better equipped to empower our youths with tools and a platform they need to serve, lead, shine, and excel. When our spirit, commitment, and consistency come together the success is imminent and we are the top achievers irrespective of our grade or recognition.

We would like to sincerely thank all the students, instructors, panelists, admins, and family members for being tremendously supportive and instrumental to make Coool Summer Program-2020 a great success.

We look forward to seeing everyone at future events, in sha Allah.… but until then with smile, joy, and unshakeable spirit let’s carry on the Coool motto, "Keep COOOL and Do STEAM".

May Allah (SWT) accept our efforts, forgive our shortcomings, grant us success, and give us the best in this world and the next.

Da'wah and Du'as of Ibrahim عليه السلام

In Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah ﷻ tells us that no matter what test Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام was presented with, he fulfilled it every single time (2:124). Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام was a pillar of strength and sacrifice. From standing up to his community to proclaim the oneness of Allah, to leaving his family in an uninhabited valley, to preparing to sacrifice his own beloved son at Allah’s command—Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام was always ready to answer Allah’s call. We follow his example even today. When Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked about the sacrifice of Eid al-Adha, he said that is the tradition of our spiritual forefather, Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام. When we complete all of the rites and rituals of Hajj, we are following in his footsteps. We invite you all to join us on Thursday (July 30th), which is the 9th of Dhul Hijjah and the Day of Arafah, for a very special webinar. Our instructors will be sharing reflections on the legacy of the great Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام.
